Cindy Eliza Vaz — slow traveller, leader, writer, and perpetual student of the world.
If I had to describe myself in one sentence, it would probably be this:
A woman who moves through life with intention — sometimes fast when work demands it, but always slow where it matters.
I’ve spent nearly two decades in the world of digital leadership, building teams across performance, programmatic, and tech, navigating mergers, managing people, and holding emotional weight that most job descriptions will never acknowledge. I’ve led large teams, built new structures from the ground up, and helped others find clarity in chaos. And somewhere along the way, I realised this:
The pace of my career didn’t have to be the pace of my life.
Travel became my refuge, my reset, and eventually my teacher.
I didn’t start out as a “slow traveller.” I used to chase itineraries the way I chased deadlines — fast, efficient, and always on the move. But life has a way of nudging you toward the things you need, not the things you expect.
For me, that shift came quietly — in the stillness of a teahouse in Hangzhou, in the cold wind on a cliff in Scotland, in the soft morning light in Busan, in the quiet loneliness of solo trips where I finally had space to hear my own thoughts.
Slow travel taught me how to breathe again.
How to notice the small things.
How to arrive fully in a moment instead of rushing through it.
And slowly, it changed how I led, how I created, how I lived.
Why I Created The Slow Transit
Because the world is moving too fast.
Because people are burning out faster than they’re “succeeding.”
Because I believe stories and stillness can change us in ways strategy never will.
The Slow Transit is my way of blending all the fragments of who I am:
- the corporate leader who believes in building teams with heart
- the Malaysian girl who has walked through grief and learned resilience early
- the reader who collects stories like precious souvenirs
- the solo traveller who finds home in unfamiliar cities
- the woman who believes softness is strength
- the writer who wants to help others breathe a little easier
This space is not about perfect aesthetics or travel bragging rights.
It’s about meaningful movement — in travel, in work, in life.

Who Is Cindy Eliza Vaz Behind the Words
I’m someone who—
- reads obsessively and travels with a book everywhere
- loves both mischief and solitude in equal measure
- cooks reunion dinners for my family
- speaks Mandarin fluently despite not having a Chinese name
- enjoys designing, tinkering with colours, and building things from scratch
- carries two dogs and three brothers in my heart
- believes that travel doesn’t change you; paying attention does
I’m 37 but look younger (I’ll take the compliment).
I live a quiet life now — peaceful, deliberate, and deeply mine.

Cindy Eliza Vaz’s Philosophy
Move slowly.
Notice deeply.
Live intentionally.
Lead gently.
Slow travel showed me the world.
Slow living helped me survive it.
Slow leadership taught me who I am within it.
And that’s what I hope to share here —
a softer way of being human, in a world that keeps asking you to hurry.
